UHS Girls Golf beat its all-time record once again by shooting a score of 178 against Northwood High School in the team’s Game of the Week (GOW).
Ellen Takada (Sr.), OC Varsity’s Player of the Week, shot 34. Takada’s score was the second-best score, right behind Samantha Cabunag (So.) who shot 33.
The Trojans emerged victorious by a score of 178-226.
About breaking the record again, Takada said, “It was a great moment for us because it shows that we are improving and it give us a lot of motivation.” Takada personally struggled with short putts, but compensated with longer birdies.
Two days later, UHS Girls’ Golf had another victory against Corona del Mar (CDM) with a score of 187-213. It was CDM’s first loss of the season. Ellen Takada and Kristin Shea (So.) both shot 35, one under par. Shea said the team “peaked at the right moment and is ending the season really well.”
The Trojans are now placed third in the Pacific Coast League, and they look impressive heading into the heart of league play.
