Boys Water Polo suffers defeat against Woodbridge

Boys Water Polo lost to Woodbridge by a score of 7-15, giving them a 4-5 league record, and diminishing their chances at qualifying for CIF. They will be in consideration for a wildcard spot to qualify.
The team’s defense struggled to prevent Woodbridge from scoring, with Woodbridge taking advantage of all their scoring opportunities.
“Woodbridge is a strong team and throughout the game their lead kept increasing and they began to put more of their shots away,” junior Liam Horan said.
Even though the team fell short, the game added to their experience against strong teams, which could be crucial if they qualify for CIF.
“[Up until now] we played against teams that were one or even two divisions above us,” sophomore Victor Martin said.
Though the team’s offense struggled, junior Stewart Campbell continued to impress, scoring three goals.
“Stewart is a strong thrower. He scores the most, because he shoots the most and that’s very helpful in a game,” Coach Jesse Briggs said.
The team’s last league game is against Beckman on October 29, as they will fight for CIF qualification.
