The University High School (UHS) wrestling team defeated the Northwood High School (NHS) Timberwolves at an away meet on Wednesday, January 22. The Trojans had 51 points while NHS ended at 20. John Farah (Jr.) pinned down his opponent in the first round to keep his undefeated season. Clay Hess (Sr.), Joseph Lai (Jr.), Danny Gilbertson (Sr.) and Ibrihim Takesh (So.) also won their matches. Takesh fought hard to win by decision 11-10.
Fady Riad (Jr.) said, “We are united just like a family and I think that’s what I like the most about wrestling. Defeating Northwood felt really good and united us even more.”
The wrestling team will compete in their next league meet at Irvine High School on Wednesday, January 29.
