With the spring sports season here, UHS Varsity Baseball is looking forward to a memorable season. Baseball won against Mission Viejo 10-3 and Long Beach Jordan 16-1, ending their preseason with two big wins. Now, the team is focusing on staying consistent and bringing their wins in preseason to the regular season.
In league, which begins on Mar. 5, the team is focusing on placing well while having a good time. Senior Blaine Anderson gave his take on his expectations for the season.
“My goals this season are to make CIF and win league,” Anderson said.
The team shares this same vision to make history for the program and is focused on working hard to fulfill their expectations.
“We hope to compete for a top spot in league and a spot in CIF,” senior Luke Weston said. “In the past three seasons, we have fallen short of making CIF, so doing so this year would be amazing, especially for the seniors.”
The seniors have a special bond that pushes them to work their hardest this year. The players have a new sense of passion and look forward to their games and practices to enjoy in their last season.
“I am looking forward to spending one last season with my teammates,” Weston said. “They have grown to be my closest friends over the last four years and I am so excited to enjoy playing with them one last time.”
The UHS Varsity Baseball team is on track to show their fans how much dedication and perseverance they have put in.
They have high hopes for their next game at Beckman on Mar. 22 at 3:30 p.m.
