Baseball’s season has been a long journey filled with triumphant wins and the creation of lifelong friends. After their record of 9-11-1 last year, the team hoped to bring home more wins this year. While there were ups and downs, the team worked incredibly hard to have a successful season.
With dedicated practices and games during their preseason, baseball was determined to make an impact during their league season.
“Our expectation for this season was to compete for a top spot in league and CIF,” senior Luke Weston said. “We have fallen short of making CIF the past few years, so we hoped to make a difference this season.”
While they reached their goal of making CIF, they ultimately fell short during the first game. Despite this, they kept up their sense of teamwork and ended the season with great sportsmanship.
“I really enjoy all the team dinners and early morning lifts with my team, bonding moments like this and close games are always fun,” senior Austin Barnett said.
Baseball is proud of its effort this past season and is thankful to have made CIF for the first time in three years. It will continue to take this spirit throughout off-season practice and league games next year, with the underclassmen swooping in to improve its record.
“I enjoy being able to have fun with my friends and being able to be part of a positive community,” senior Blaine Anderson said.
Congratulations to baseball on an incredible season; we recognize the hard work and dedication put into every game.
