Due to finishing in first place in the Pacific Coast League, the University High School (UHS) girls basketball team qualified for the CIF tournament. On February 22, The Trojans won their first CIF game against Santa Fe High School (65-60). Emily Reiland (Sr.) led the team by scoring 30 points.
Her teammate, Dana Bossenmeyer (Sr.), said, “I feel amazing because we won our first game in CIF. I am looking forward for the rest of the competition.” This is the Trojans’ tenth consecutive victory. They are currently seeded number 15 out of 32 in the CIF southern division. On February 26, The Trojans will take on Ventura High School at 7 p.m. at home. Kiara Warren (Jr.) said, “We feel amazing because the team is in great form, and with every victory we get stronger and stronger.”
