On Wednesday, September 3rd, University (UHS) girls volleyball secured a shutout win of 3-0 against the visiting El Toro Chargers.
Cali Fuller (Sr.) was selected player of the match for both the Aliso Niguel pre-season game and the El Toro game. Fuller, along with Neeka Barooni (Sr.) and Madison Daniels (Jr.), is one of this year’s captains. All three captains dominate on the court with Fuller as outside hitter, Barooni as defensive specialist and Daniels as setter.
Wednesday’s victory has brought promise to the Trojans. “I think we’ll make it to CIF. I want to make it to CIF,” said Klaire Thoman (Fr.), who is very excited for the upcoming season.
Jaylee Morse (So.) said the Trojans “worked together better, helped each other, and used our talents to pull together and win. It was a promising start.” Morse holds the team in high regard and is hopeful for the rest of the games. The UHS girls volleyball team holds a 1-1 record, with one preseason loss against Aliso Niguel.
The Trojans will play Calvary Chapel on Tuesday, September 9 at home.
