On Monday, October 6, University High School (UHS) played Beckman High School (BHS). After three back and forth games, UHS ended up losing 0-3 to BHS. UHS fought to keep up with Beckman, but at the end of each game BHS defeated UHS by only a few points.
Beckman easily defeated UHS in the first match, but the second game was not the same. UHS was down 16-23, but fought their way back to tie it at 23-23. After a few long serves, the Trojans could not quite keep the momentum, losing the second match.
Leila Heiba (Sr.) said “The second match was nail biting to watch from the side lines, we all thought we had this one in the bag.”
In the third match, the Trojans just couldn’t quite keep up with Beckman’s strong outside hitters and libero.
This game leaves the team 0-2 in League. If they want a shot at CIF they will need to defeat their upcoming opponents from Corona del Mar (CdM).
The Trojans will play the Sea Kings this Thursday, October 8, at the CdM gym. Hopefully, the Trojans will be able to turn their losing streak around.
