I remember the day I fell in love with you.
I was walking along the road and caught glimpse of the big, bright lights.
I had been there before, but for some reason, it all felt new.
Everything fell into my sight.
The tall buildings that reached for the clouds, towering over the crowds…
The people walking by, so fast-paced and alive…
Friends laughed and the city, it thrived.
I could feel its love, rich with culture.
It was historical, a combination of South-American and European flavors.
The architecture was astounding; it told the stories of its people.
The pride and strength of its city, a love like no other.
At night, life blossomed throughout the city.
Shining like the moon, the youth arose.
Music played and people ate.
Every night was a celebration, a sign of life.
It was everything I hoped to be; it was a part of me.
I was home and that’s the best I could’ve wished for.
