How frightening it is when reality falters
And bravery compromises cowardice
When the throne of ruthlessness is worn by the weak
And the hero of the tale lies helplessly at its feet
What will emerge through this paradoxical era
Where freedom is forced into a cage
And the ink of dishonesty stains the platform of truth
Once a fair pale, once pure
As old repression rolls over hills of retired youth
The kingdom of glory soon begins to disengage
The once legendary inspiration,
Now a myth forgotten and abandoned
Though in stories, hope of courage at the feet of peace lingers yet
Books are now outgrown
As are the plots they entail
How frightening it is when reality falters
Very frightening, indeed
