Please Take Care of Your Fish: a poem

If you have a fish, give it your love

‘Cause fish are cute, that ya can’t love enough,

If you have a fish, feed it well,

‘Cause fish get hungry, but it’s hard to tell,

If you have a fish, clean its bowl,

‘Cause fish aren’t perfect, but they have a soul,

If you have a fish, don’t let it die,

‘Cause fish are nice, and need your time,

I had a fish, that I didn’t give love,

Took it for granted, out ran my luck,

I had a fish, that I didn’t feed well,

Took it for granted, and here I dwell,

I had a fish, I didn’t clean its bowl,

Took it for granted, and now there’s a hole,

I had a fish, and I let it die,

Took it for granted, and the hole’s inside,

My heart.
