Boys Varsity Soccer won their third preseason matchup against Sage Hill School with a score of 6-0 on Tuesday, December 6. The strong showing against Sage was an even greater improvement over last year’s 3-0 victory.
Throughout the game, UHS displayed dominance on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball .The difference in the game depended on the midfielders making many successful connecting passes to the strikers, providing opportunities for UHS’s offense to score. Meanwhile, goalie and captain James Choi (Jr.) excelled on the field, tallying a shutout against Sage’s offense.
The star of the team that day was forward Luis Moros (So.), who scored a hat trick in the first half of the game. Also scoring a goal for the Trojans in the first half was midfielder Adam Eldefrawy (Sr.). UHS had possession of the ball for the majority of the game.
During the second half, UHS continued to dominate with both Ivan Ma (Jr.) and Darious Abdollahi (Jr.), scoring an additional goal each.
After the game, the Trojans were confident in their chemistry and their chances on making the playoffs this season.
“After the 6-0 win I think it’s fair to say we know how to put the ball in the back of the net,” Choi said. “We’re definitely looking very strong compared to previous years in all aspects of our game. if we keep at it the way we have this week, I’m sure a league title and a chance in CIF will be ahead of us.”
The Trojans next game is against Pacifica High School at home on Friday, December 9.
