Boys Varsity Soccer defeated Crean Lutheran with a score of 4-0 at home on Friday, December 16. With the win, the team stays undefeated and improves to 6-0 in preseason play.
In the first half, the Trojans got off to an early lead and were able to keep the Saints scoreless. Julian Ricci (Sr.) was the first one to put his team on the board and provide great momentum on the offensive end.
In the second half, Sebastian Hertel (So.) caught fire and scored three goals to help pad the Trojans lead.
Other contributors included Sam Kelley (Jr.) and Darious Abdollahi (Jr.), who each had an assist, as well as Luis Moros (So.) who contributed two more.
“Although the outcome on Friday reflected our play positively, it wasn’t the type of soccer we embody and strive towards on the pitch. When we are offered an opponent that doesn’t give much back, it’s hard to make the coffee. We got the results but it was not pretty” Ricci said.
The team looks to keep rolling with three remaining pre-league games before their league opener against Beckman. UHS plays an away game against Kennedy on Tuesday, December 20.
