In a matchup on Tuesday, April 12, against the Timberwolves, Northwood was able to defeat the Trojans by a final score of 4-1.The loss puts the Trojans record at 2-4 and tied for fourth place in PCL ahead of Irvine.
In the first inning, Andie Masotto (Jr.) led off with a single to left. After advancing on ground balls and fly outs, Masotto would score to put the Trojans on top 1-0.
When asked how he felt about getting the first and only run for the Trojans, Masotto said, “It felt good being able to come through for my team.”
The following inning, Northwood would be able to tie it up from three hits off of starting pitcher David Schlomavitz (Jr.). He would be able to get out of the jam with the score staying even at 1-1.
No team would score another run until the sixth inning, when Northwood would put up three more runs to put them on top 4-1.
In the final inning, Farbod Markazi (Sr.) came in and pitched a scoreless seventh. Markazi is the likely starter in the Trojans’ game on Friday, April 14.
This Friday, the Trojans will face Northwood in the Timberwolves’ field where the boys in blue get one last shot to get a win against them.
