Girls Varsity Lacrosse lost to CdM 16-5 last Thursday, April 20. This loss places the girls third in league behind Beckman, but in front of Northwood.
In the first half, Team Captains Ashlyn Wang (Sr.) and Honia Motashami (Sr.) each scored one goal. Then, midfielder Ashley Chandlyr (Jr.) scored another goal, making the halftime score 3-8.
In the second half, Wang scored the only two goals, making the end score 5-16.
“We definitely played better the first time we played, when we lost by three instead of five, but overall our team still stayed together and still tried” Wang said. “. I think what matters the most is that our team has a better attitude and heart than them.”
The team hopes to pave a road to CIF finals this year.
“There were moments we brought our A-game and more importantly we have things we can work on leading to our regular season league game,” Team Captain Phoebe Solomon (Sr.) said. “We are still hoping to secure a spot for CIF.”
The next lacrosse game is Monday, April 24 against Irvine at the Irvine stadium.
“Our team is doing really well and maybe we will meet CdM at CIF this year,” Attack Player Anneke Gustafson (Sr.) said.
