Boys Varsity Water Polo fell to Woodbridge 5-16, making their record 7-7 overall. The Trojans fell to an early deficit, finishing first quarter 3-6.
Co-Captain Joe Nagy (Sr.) scored two goals along with one from Co-Captain Bennett Kidder (Sr.). Their defensive struggles continued in the second quarter, conceding six more goals. Their offense, however, stalled, as the only goal scored was by Nagy.
Woodbridge’s lead continued to grow in the third quarter as the team failed to score. One more goal was scored in the fourth quarter, but any chances of a comeback were dashed by three goals from Woodbridge.
The Trojans have used their losses as an opportunity to learn from their mistakes. “We can learn a lot from that loss,” Co-Captain Andrew Weller (Sr.) said. “We’ve got to work on getting big for shots and stronger defense.” Co-Captains Nagy, Kidder and Weller continue to score major points in games and hope to lead the team to more victories.
The Trojans now look ahead to an away game against Beckman on Thursday, October 5.
