The UHS Girl’s Tennis team once again showed their dominance, triumphing over Woodbridge High School at their home game 14-4. After making it all the way to the C.I.F. finals last season, this year’s team looks just as formidable, as they’re currently undefeated.
Once again, University never seemed to be threatened, something that’s becoming a common theme this year. Their victory over Woodbridge gave them their 11th victory in which they’ve more than doubled their opponents score, an impressive feat. Senior captain Dena Norouzi was pleased with her team’s performance but acknowledged the need to stay focused.
“We’re really happy to be undefeated right now but we can’t let it distract us. We have big goals and we know we can’t take it easy until we’ve accomplished them,” Nourouzi said.
Girl’s Tennis Coach John Kessler felt similarly.
“We have a great team this year, and it’s important for us to remain focused. We’re glad to be undefeated so far, but if we get distracted it won’t stay that way,” Kessler stated.
The Girls schedule takes an interesting turn soon, as they’ll be facing all League teams in their upcoming games. Their next match will take place October 17th, at 3 P.M. against Portola High School.
