On Wednesday, January 14 the UHS wrestling team crushed Corona Del Mar High School (CDM) in an away match with an impressive score of 48-30.
Joshua Miguel Gonzales (Jr.) was proud of the team’s victory and how hard it fought to secure the win against CDM. Kian Shahin (Jr.) was unable to secure a win against his opponent. In spite of his loss, he is still optimistic for the future of his team.
Jordan Elam (So.) remarked on the team’s impressive performance and said, “We went out there with our minds set on winning. So we brought our energy and strength on to the mat. We gave it our all and came out with the win as a team.”
The Trojans’ victory not only placed them second in league, but also secured their place in the California Interscholastic Federation. Their next match is on Wednesday, January 21 against Northwood High School.
