On Thursday, March 26, UHS had a track meet against Woodbridge (WHS). Despite their efforts, both UHS boy and girls came up short. Although the meet overall may have seemed like a blowout, a few Trojans performed their best.
Paige Metayer (Fr.) won in all three races she ran: the 400m, and 300m and 100m hurdles. Metayer effortlessly beat the fastest 400 runner from WHS and earned a personal best that day. Metayer said, “I am so happy to be running, I had no clue I was able to until I tried it for the first time this year. Track is so different from soccer, but I really enjoy the people and the atmosphere.”
In the 100m, WHS took first and third, but Sofya Ogunseitan (Jr.) took second.
Caroline Werth (Sr.) also performed well, placing in long jump and running the 200m and 4x100m relay race.
UHS’s next meet will be against Beckman on April 4.
